Tillotson carb specs
#1
Since VKA has made a Tilly carb venturi max size of .810 for the West Bend sidewinder class for 2020 does anyone know a good site that lists specs for all carbs that might work for this?

Thanks
Tom

Thanks Paul,
Nothing there that converts to the .810 max that we can run. Closest is 20mm or.787.

Is that just an 0.810 no-go as a max dimension? The venturi in a standard new style Tillotson can be taken out that much without any major modifications. Didnt the 820 have a .750 venturi originally? Or am I missing something here?

Terry,
The .810 is given as the max you can run. The stock carb that US motor supplies with the 820 nowdays is the HL232 with a spec of 20.66 which converted is .813.

Randy,
yep, that's the stock carb for the 820 from US Motor. I was just looking to see what else might be able to be used. Got to be thousands of Tillys out there from all theres years.

I would think there would be others but I have not found any
the HL232 is easy  to get

I'm no mathmetician, but .813 is larger than .810. If I understand correctly that would make the HL232 ineligible, no?

I was thinking about the stock carbs on early 820's. The HL 134A with a .750" venturi. That would be easy to take out to the .810" dimension. I guess that size keeps everyone from swapping out to any standard Tillotson for stock rotary valve engines with .875" venturi.

Put carb in the freezer before getting tech'ed. It will be fine.

Is that why I should have a freezer in my trailer?
