west bend engine package questions ..
#11
i emailed jeff about the program a few weeks ago.

the current status is they don't have the high speed piston rings at the factory anymore.
as soon as a reliable source is sorted out the program will move forward.
shouldn't take long
we'll keep everyone posted.
Cool

Give Tim a call at Cat Kart Racing. He was supposed to get one of these in to the shop last week or so. I didn't follow up. My bad. Ted

If Dave B is jammed up, it seems like someone skilled in NC programming & machining, and with access to machines (Joel Wauthier comes to mind, but there are many skilled machinists in this hobby) could make a few fixtures to hold the US820 blocks for the various setups, and port & window the blocks without too much trouble. With decent fixtures, they could be extremely consistent.

It seems like the hardest part would be the boost ports. Still not a big deal for someone skilled in the art.

Doug, the hard part is the fairing the intakes into the transfer passage, and the polishing the crank. It's not just millwork. TJ
