Would It be a good investment?
Posted by: Ludovico Prelogar - 03-16-2017, 10:21 PM - Forum: General - Replies (8)

Would it be a good investment to purchase an mc70 block off EBay? I believe it is being sold by Jeff Brown. He is also selling a reed sloper manifold I want.

Any suggestions or thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Vico

3rd Bearing Support for Closed Cover Hartman
Posted by: Ryan Johnson - 03-16-2017, 09:45 AM - Forum: Clutch i.d,clutch Archive rebuild info and id section. - No Replies

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone has any ideas what can be done for a 3rd bearing support for a closed cover Hartman clutch? I'm thinking I'll end up making a guard or cage that goes around the clutch to comply with VKA guidelines but no actual 3rd bearing support. If anyone has any pics or info of a nice setup with a closed cover Hartman please let me know. Thanks!

Ryan

I had never seen this publication before by one of our members Don Tomich.....is it still for sale and
where do you get them ?

Are they just "Down Under" historical karting or Vintage Karting History in general ?

Arrrrghhhhh curses steve miller another tree fell down!!!!
Posted by: David Luciani - 03-14-2017, 05:17 PM - Forum: General - Replies (4)

RECENTLY,
my buddy steve miller made some comments about trees and how many i  "seemingly" get to deal with lately.
well it is true i've had bad luck tree wise but as my mom lives in a town called woodbridge and ct is generally 3rd growth woods well you get the idea.
Milford, where i actually live now is about the same as woodbridge tree wise but being a coastal town gets a heck of a lot more wind.
anyway heres the result

it seems blizzard wind (not so much for the snow this time) + weak tree = another tree job AGAIN this year.
i still have to finish up the broken hemlock at my moms house that snapped in half this winter too.
this was the last tree off a group of four that used to be there.
the huge oak (120' tall /4'+ at trunk) another hemlock , and a smaller oak left with the last hurricane a couple three years ago. I'd just finished cleaning up the last tipped stump and destroyed stone wall last spring and reseeded the lawn around that mess.
the biggest issue as usual is theres no machine access .
so i'll be wrecking chainsaw blades and digging dirt away by hand from roots so i can cut it up again this year.

to add insult to injury my new vegetable garden is underneath said tree right now.
thankfully the neighbor i don't deal with in any way had his garage spared so i don't need to listen to his crabbing this time.

I found this old link that I had not seen before. Write up on Jerry Solt and his famous SAE karts out of Findlay Ohio.
