I traded Bobby in Mississippi some Homelite internals for a Mc 1-51. It was pretty fresh. Of course I was going to burnish the block, piston, FW, and head. To keep the steel pins from rusting I have to preserve them with a high pH fatty compound and this is when I put a crank in. This compound is relatively safe on the magnesium parts as well, but they never burnish like the aluminum. I guess I call this one "saw in the raw".
I'm going to be away until the end of March, so I'll be parking the machine for a bit.
