FOR SALE: Is there a quick and easy way to tell a 610 from an 820 ?

West Bend engine difference between the 610 and 820, like bore size and possibly a way to tell through the exhaust port with a pair of digital calipers?  I'm trying to avoid disassembly but will likely have to pull the head off.
So anyways, bore size is needed indeed.

There is about 1/2 inch difference between the two pistons. Should be easy enough to figure out which is which doing a visual in the exhaust ports.

610 bore is 2.187, 820 bore is 2.531. Magnet test works, 610's have a cast iron sleeve, there are a few late 610's that have a chrome bore so the magnet test will not work on those. A rough measurement through the exhaust port: from the exhaust gasket flange the 610 measures 2.991, the 820 measures 3.154, mind you these are rough measurements with a digital caliper but are close enough to tell a 610 from an 820, all this is with stock bores.

I forgot about the cast iron in the 610, so looking through the exhaust port, I could see the cast liner much like you'd see looking through the ports on a McCulloch engine.

What are the models SA606 and SA822 signify?

SA is for Special Application; these engines were made to customers specifications: i.e.: Dave Libberton 610's were SA designation SA616.

Well that kinda makes sense to me cause the SA 606 came with thin rings, but the SA 822 looks like they are the standard wide cast iron rings.

I'm going to assume 606 is a 610 and the 822 is a 820?

If there happens to be a chart with the Special application models listed, I sure would like to have a pdf file of such.

Mark, I have never seen a chart with SA specifications, yes, the 600 series would be 610's, 800 series are 820's. Do you have a picture of the 606? The later 610 kart engines all had factory thin ring pistons, (.030) unless someone put an aftermarket thin ring piston in it which would have been .024 rings. The Libberton 610 has the intake manifold that uses the Mac 91 reed cage and an HR 181 carburetor.

This has the standard West Bend intake manifold and reed cage with a Tilltson HL 232A typical 5/8" down to 9/16" PTO with left hand threads. One thick head gasket, probably 064" thick, and I'm assuming typical point ignition.

I am going to "TRY" to upload some pictures, we'll see how goes.

just to be safe now, I'd only consider Precious metals like g0ld and silver, the collapse is quite near.
FRN's are just too risky at this point.
