Batavia NY. Go Kart Track Auction LIVE

I just wanted to let everyone in the Vintage community that the Batavia NY. go kart track is being auctioned off by the county. BontragerAuction.com is the site running the Auction and it's LIVE. Go to the site and click on Auctions on the top, click upcoming auctions in the drop down box then go to Fall 2021 Genesse County Tax Foreclosure.
Search for lot #9. The current bid is $33,000.00 and all past leins and property taxes are forgiven at time of sale and a quick deed is given to the new owner.
It would be nice to see this GREAT PIECE of VINTAGE HISTORY be brought back to life.
I personally toured the site 2 months ago and it's not in bad shape. Get a few people together and relive the past and present. Google maps will show you the buildings along with the following equipment on the property, Case 430 diesel loader backhoe, Grader and a Panel Van.

Auction will close on Nov. 16th starting at 7 PM at a rate of 1 lot per minute. Bidding in the last minute of a lot will extend the bid time by 2 more minutes.

If I still lived in WNY I'd be all over this. In 1968 this was the first kart track I went to when I was growing up.

of course the way things go it's liable to become building lots and yet another track lost to history.

I hope that Kelly Speedway doesn't turn into building lots.  Not the best location for them as it is right on I90.

Well Sam, you now got it up to $77,000 so you sparked an interest.   Nice location where you will not get bothered by a housing development so most likely not bothered with a noise ordinance.  Still it is a lot of work but it will keep you busy and out of trouble.  

You can call the track "PLAY IT AGAIN SAM".  Has a nice ring to it.  I will cook your first meal at the  grand opening of it in 2023!!!

Well I'll tell ya I wish I was 20 years younger when this chance came along. It was a nice sunny day when I was there remembering all the times I was on the track( and off) just sitting on one of the corners next to the thruway overlooking the area. Yes it's overgrown with weeds and trees and mother nature hasn't been kind to the track surface, BUT a little elbow grease and a few dollars it could be back to normal. The area surrounding the area has changed quite a bit. They now have a casino at the race track, Hotels, restaurants and a shopping center just down the street.
    The time is right to be brought back to life. I like the track name Jim as it has a nice ring to it. Any chance both Scott and I could take you up on your culinary offer at Avon this year ???
     Ted we wish you lived a little closer as the East coast is buzzing.
