max torque shoe material rivets

max torque shoe material rivets.
For anyone wanting rivets for the 2 cycle Max Torque clutch shoes for the 2 cycle engines, I wanted to share the listing on eBay I purchased from sometime back. These are the same exact brass rivets used by Max Torque back in the day.  Many of you may have already purchased, but for those that were uninformed here is the link to that eBay listing.

I’m still unsure of what tool to use to secure these so as not to over crush them, in effect distorting the shoe materials proper fastening to the core.

Thanks,

Mark, the proper size rivet is a 4-4, you can use the 4-5, they are a little longer. Air Craft Spruce has the 4-4 rivets for .03 cents each, they also have a brake rivet tool (RAPCO RA825) it comes with two different size anvils. I did a Max-Torque clutch reline article for VKA FirsTurn a while back (maybe 6 or 7 years) you can probably find it on the VKA website.

Thanks Louie Great info!

I simply reported on what I saw on a new one, understand the 4-5 will work but are just little longer.

Here is the link for the 4-4 rivets Louie mentioned.
They Call them aluminum rivets,
the ones I mentioned on ebay are surely brass and weigh 80 grams or 2.80 oz. for 100.
