1982 Hartman Enduro - 2018 MIS Race

The season is winding down for most of us and leaving us with some idle time.

I used a new video camera, a 360 degree viewing camera with GPS data display. You can drag/swipe/rotate (depends on your device) up/down, left/right, zoom and look completley around. If you get a weird view (all 360 showing in a 2D view) you need to look for another link or icon to discover to get the correct view. Note: the data display is fixed to the forward view and will go off view when looking eslewhere.

My first ever drive with the kart at MIS, a 1982 Hartman enduro powered by a Yamaha Piston Port 100cc engine. Michigan International Speedway, August, 2018. Kart Owner: Herb and Dave Dickel. Dave is the regular pilot, but was recovering from an illness.

I couple of weeks ago from the board members of the Michigan Kart Club (MKC) that promoted the Spring Classic and the Autumn Classic at the Michigan International Speedway have decided to shut down the club and sell off the club assets. This ends basically a 50 year tradition where a kart race has been held at MIS and have felt fortunate to run my first race at the 2018 Autumn Classic.

It is very sad. The Michigan Kart Club always was super vintage friendly and I enjoyed racing there. I will definitely miss racing at MIS and the people of MKC.
