hi everyone quick quick question. can i run a tilly carb upside down? in other words with fuel inlet on carb facing down. does it hurt performance?

Diaphragm carbs were designed to operate in any position, which is why they were used on chain saws and other implements. You can read about that here: http://tillotson.ie/about-us/
I would be surprised to find that any performance difference results from different mounting orientations.

Mel, remember, no matter in which orientation you mount it, there must still be a clear pulse hole path through gaskets, reed cage flange and manifold. Otherwise, the carb cannot pump fuel from the tank. Ted
