i was gonna say alot about jeffs event , all good , but the numbers tell more than i can.
new castle isn't for everyone as it is a BIG LONG TRACK.
Historics have to be babied on the straight but otherwise good fun.
the careless driving in the past wasn't there this year .
considering the huge amount of entries there weren't any real issues on the track outside of what you'd expect at any event.
it was HOT i drank tons of water and gatorade as did everyone.
the flagging was very good and kart retrival for break downs was effective.
i had first hand experience with that part.
the yamaha classes were well attended as were several other classes.
the only complaint i have is with VKA not jeff.
VKA guidelines ALLOWS FOREIGN MOTORS TO RUN with MCCULLOCHS IN THE STRAIGHT AXLE SIDEWINDER CLASS.
VKA seems to think mccullochs can compete with foreign motors as long as the foreigns are limited to a 1" carb.
it can be argued an OPEN Mcculloch can keep up with foreign motors but a stock mcculloch not so much.
it's a shame that happened but maybe it can be fixed in the future.
next year i'll bring a foreign on my sidewinder if i run that class.
end of rant
