newbie here...have questions
#11

Thanks to everyone for the ideas and tips. So far this seems like a great message board. Looking forward to being a part of the group. I went down and picked up the kart yesterday. It's pretty hammered but I can work with it. I'm going to start out by tearing the kart down and cleaning everything. The paint all needs to come off and I need to reevaluate the plan then. I'm going to post new topics when I have specific questions, just to keep organized. I'm excited to start out on a new project. This will be fun. -Rick

I almost forgot! The front axle is bent to hell and the seat back post is cracked! Just like you guys said.

definitely an early gk 800
the seat on the early karts are almost always broke.
mostly because 3/4 inch tube couldn't take the push starts typical of the day.

before dis assembling get a zillion pix.
you'll be happy later on as it'll give you an idea of how it was assembled before you took it apart.
the front axle is a issue you'll need a new one fabricated.
i'll see if i can get the axle specs you'll need figure on a few bucks to have it fabbed if you can do the work.
i definitely have a seat pattern in paper done by a good upholstorey guy.
also i think someone was re-popping the gk seat already.
Cool

MAYBE, just maybe, you might talk Michael Burke into making an axle. He's done G.K. axles, and they came out perfect. TJ
