I always cut down every tree large enough to do damage before that can happen and plant another one. I only have 25,000 trees to maintain.

Bummer David. At least you got some exercise cleaning up the mess. I had one come down into my bedroom one night while I was sleeping. That was scary. Good luck with the repairs.

Recently had to have a large tree in my front yard taken down. I know about the cost. However, after watching the guy with the chain saw climb and what all he did, there is no way I would do it for that amount.

back when i was young i was a climber, worked for woodbridge tree for something like 8 years.
figured out it was a young guy game.
you start as a ground man advance to climbing then when your body is too worn you go back to ground man.
not for me.

anyway i had fun helping the crew i know the owner well and we argue about how and why all the time.
mostly i mention different ways because he's a cowboy with equipment and i didn't want any extra damage to the house.
