1966 IKF Winter Nationals
#1
1966 IKF Winter Nationals covered by Karter News (1966-March)

Partial coverage and results page shown. Go to Facebook: "Vintage Karting Association" or "Vintage Kart Club of America" to see the complete issue.

I never was aware there was a Western Winter National back in 1966 and that the division Nationals started back then. Top flight racers participated, however, results were an all California top-five in all the classes on the results.

The Eastern Winter Nationals, I only knew it as the Winter Nationals prior, had doubled the entries and karts from many states east of the Mississippi River represented in the results, including a Champion from Wichita, KS (west of the Mississippi). This event also drew karting's elite racers as well.

Interesting sats.  Not one single person outside of California for the West Coast Division.  Also, It looks like West Bend's only stong point was the C-Open.  Parilla & Mac were about 50/50 for everything else.

I would be interested in seeing the article about the 1966 engine anouncements.
