I've never had the pleasure of being there, but friends who have told me that I should wear comfortable shoes and pack a lunch... apparently it's long walk back to the pits!

a 490 might take a while to go around the track.
as i remember it was a nice technical track too.
the margay i was running was poorly prepped to be polite.
but it did leave a permanent memory.
Gary W. told me he never saw a kart roll over so far and NOT flip.
i am eternally grateful the kart landed cleanly.
the whole spin up on one wheel and do a 260 wasn't something i was ready for and it could've ended badly.
a very fast and fun track.
Cool

The NCMP National Course is one mile (.99 or 1.1, depends on the organization). Depending on the configuration used on a KRA race day, they can range .75 to 1.25 miles. The long straight with the slight bend section along the pond is 950'. The Interstate straight. prior, going toward I-70 is 750' as Gary W. noted. The group of straights going by and away from the pits generate similar top speeds as the Interstate straight.

Gearing. Steve O'Hara gave a nice answer on this forum or the Facebook Vintage Karting Association page in terms of clutch engagement (preservation), associated speeds one may want to obtain and gear selection. Sorry, I don't have this link off hand. If I locate the post, I'll edit this Reply and include a link.
