Soooo,
Scott and sammy have the best event on the upper East Coast.
there's always a ton of driver and best of all a serious amount of the karts are rear engined early stuff.
absolutely a joy to see still running in a competitive though non racing manor.
funny, it's sometimes hard to tell the difference.
The rear engined duals were the best surprise.
9 entries all well built and all 9 made the starting grid for the last round.
AMAZING!!!

we had the usual mix of newbes and old timers.
everyone was all smiles the event is well run the track fast and fun.
Anyone with a mechanical issue is soon set right by everyone around them.

As usual i ended up wrenching on lumpys kart with Jim donavan for a time.
he has a modified king kart the just gets better every year.
in the end a whole bunch of guys helped tune his chassis and we ended up with a very strong well handling kart.
Lumpy was just about a total and complete smile over how it was running.

a little advise for ya lumpy.
next time leave the waste rag on the bench not your pocket.
your chain will thank you for that!

we had a vote about the "race" grids and decided two grids friday was better.
some didn't like it that way but we aren't racing.
so making the long drive home sooner for those who needed it was a good thing.
aaaand there was open track after the final grid for those who hadn't had enough driving already.

We also had a discussion about trophies and had a vote.
the question raised was do people prefer trophies or a place ribbon.
not surprisingly most preferred a place ribbon by majority vote.

imho trophies are cool for about 5 minutes.
then storing, cleaning and moving them becomes a pain till they get tossed.
place ribbons say the same thing and fit better on the wall.
win / win imho!

Anyway it was a blast i was happy to attend.

aaaaaand , in case you haven't figured it out yet.
i finally made another event. Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin
been forever it seems was nice to get back into it.

d Cool
