Hi Chuck,
Here's my vote: Universal g0ld SP132, https://www.vhtpaint.com/high-heat/vht-engine-enamel. VHT is available in all of the auto-parts stores, at least here in the North East.
Wait 'til the wife goes to Bridge club or whatever, and then bake the parts out in her oven, following the instructions on the can exactly. Only then will it be fully-cured and chemical resistant. If she returns before you're done, blame it all on some idiot on the kart forum (the truth is the easiest story to tell).
If anyone tells you it isn't the right shade, ask them to prove it
In the 1960's, many Oldsmobile V8's were g0ld (I used to remember... only the small-blocks? or maybe, only the big-blocks?). Maybe that will be useful.
Enjoy!
Doug
Hope you didn't buy the SP132 yet. You're going to like this even better: https://www.vhtpaint.com/high-heat/vht-caliper-paint. g0ld, SP736. Supposedly good for short-term exposure to 900F (if the outside of one of our engines gets near 900F, short-term exposure will be all you'll need ).
