RE: 101 rod bolt socket - Kurt Bogerman - 06-01-2018 Ted, I purchased some of the screws as soon as they were available. Could you elaborate on the issue, whether here or in a PM, please? Ted RE: 101 rod bolt socket - chuck giacobbe - 06-02-2018 I still have spline bolts for mcculloch 101s as i stated a while back. wish i had them 10 years ago but thats how life works. gave over 10 sockets away in last 15 years last one about a year ago.now they go for over a hundred but for how long before that price gets watered down too . MARK i emailed the seller of the sockets when he listed the first one just to say that its good timing i hope he has more? he stated he to had a jar full of the bolts but he did not know at the time what they were till he saw my bolts listed and he stated he sold them with a bunch of other mac fasteners all in one listing a while back . RE: 101 rod bolt socket - doug tenney - 06-02-2018 Before getting a 2nd mortgage for that socket, I would try an E-Torx or E-Torx-Plus socket. (E=external) You might need to enlarge the "minor diameter" to fit... According to this article, the heads of the McCulloch bolts look like they *might* be "Polydrive" or "Bristol." As with Torx, the fastener usually has the recess. I know that that's opposite the Mac bolts. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_screw_drives https://bristolwrench.com/ Torx vs. Torx Plus: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torx_Plus Sort of like the Pharmaceutical trick: make a tweak to extend the life of your patent.
RE: 101 rod bolt socket - steve welte - 06-04-2018 Today I got the replacement rod bolts for the West Bend. I'm pleased to note these are completly different than the others. These screw right in with my fingers. Thanks to K Precision Motorsports to taking care of this problem so quickly. RE: 101 rod bolt socket - ted johnson - 06-05-2018 Hooray for Jeff K.! Our issues are solved. Of course, there are those who will refuse to pay the price, and they will pay the price in other ways! Ted |
