I am not buying it. Plenty of engines I have run free ported. I bored out Parillas and stuffed in Komet pistons. Most of these had a slight tendency to free port. The opening of port exhasut was very minimal. There was no power loss on the ones that did.

But everything has its limitations. I am sure like anything too much would be a kiss of death. But just a blanket "free-porting a "piped" engine is sure DEATH for the engine" is way too much chicken little.

I also punched out 100cc Komets to fit K71/HPV pistons. The skirt was too narrow and would always open slightly on wide ported motors. Never had issues with engine failure. They sure didnt suffer from any lack of power.
