Ted I agree , tabs are a better design. If this 65 kart  he is asking about is a driver tabs would better . Weld shut most of the holes being careful not to heat twist the frame. Put the tabs on and drive it !
Just for fun, Margay has the floor tabs for a good price. I've used them on the n1ke and Photon. Good and strong. I make a Masonite pan pattern, screw the tabs to the Masonite, invert the frame and center the Masonite with the tabs attached. Weld the tabs and unscrew the Masonite. Weld up the screw holes at the same time. The Masonite can be used as a pattern for the aluminum pan. Wish you could get out here for Dean Kanocz' November event and BBQ. Bob Kurkowski is planning to join us. TJ

From Scott Kneisel. Scott is an original owner of a 1963 (single piece frame) and 1966* (2-piece frame.  *remaining 65’s Rupp sold as 1966).

Rivet spacing and pattern...

Maybe these pics will help?  I got all fancy and used Cleco fasteners to hold everything in place as I lined the pan up and drilled the holes.  I picked the pan up in South Carolina at Robron.

Good luck with the restoration!

Thank you for the measurements, the pictures, and the advise. You guys are the best. I have a new pan being made as I type this hopefully ready by next week. I just have to find time to work on it. I will post some pics if I can figure out how to do it .Can't be that hard.
Thanks so much again. I really do appreciate it.
