my find of the year so far clinton e65

so my cousin calls me and asks if i'd like a clinton e65.
says it looks complete and has clutch.
i said sure how much.
agreed on price he bought it.
so i get all excited i figure to do a few mods and get out there with the other clinton guys.
looked up hop up tips figured to get at least a few higher revs than stock.

WELL i got the motor and that idea is now trashed.
the motor is a great survivor looks like it may have been fired once or twice but never really run.
can't be cutting on museum pieces.

There is an engine listed as a MC2 on ebay for you deep pocket collectors. Lots of fresh paint and a stout buy it now, but if it is the real thing it's certainly rare.

my purchaSE PRICE WAS PRETTY MODEST.
IT WAS AT A HIT AND MISS SHOW NOBODY KNEW WHAT IT WAS FOR SO I DID GOOD.
Dang caps lock.
now getting me to let go of it might require deep deep pockets as  would have little chance of getting that lucky twice.
it is very cool but not sure where it'll live kart wise yet.
i DID sell my complete mc1 but that was because lynn put it in his museum which he drags to events time to time in a trailer.
if somebody had a barn find needing a motor in like condition that might be the best arguement for me to let it go.
anyway for now i may just leave it a shelf queen.

E65's aren't really fast, but they are bullet-proof!
Either a steel rod, or forged aluminum - way better than the A490/A400.

We had a Clinton challenge at TBO this year.  Chris M. and Scott K. kicked my ass.
Gotta figure out something for next year.

yep those guys are who i was thinking on. this one is way too nice to modify possibly even run though i'm tempted anyway.
don't forget i have that clinton block that may be an interesting build. if i get time i'll post pix.

don't worry terry.i have that secret weapon motor we discussed at tbo to build.
between us i think we can build a "fast" clinton.
as it turns out i have several clinton motors lying around i've gathered through the last few years. some are good for parts some can be built into competators at least relatively speaking.
we need to chat i think .
