Margay Gearbox gear lube
#1
Has anyone had any experience with lube for a Margay gearbox?   I am going to start using one with an oil clutch housing for a Mac.   Recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

A number of the guys use compressor oil, or even better, turbine oil in the clutch housing. Less ash. These are the recommendations the late, great Bob Lapke gave me years ago. Ted

I always used ATF, same as in the clutch. Never had a problem.

Hey, Big Dave! I use ATF in the box. I'm just goin' by what Bob L. told me. I figured if it was good for his wicked fast dual 820 King Kart, it was good enough for me! Ted

thanx for info. was kinda lonely at tbo this year with your gang not there near the coolers.
i ran a few laps just for the guys
you would've been proud.
had the mc49 on alky mounted on the king kart  .
ran flat out from corner before chicane to hairpin s section of track.
never lifted on 3/4 of the track barely braked to set up slide for the beginning of the technical section.
was doing my level best to melt another aluminum exhaust box!!
