Looking for a well used Westbend 580/700 connecting rod. Doesnt have to be pretty or even usable. Worn, rusty and pitted lower journal is fine. I have an idea for swapping it to a different brand bushing motor. Just need to acquire one and adjust it to confirm if actually will work. I would prefer one with little to no value so in case it doesnt work, a good part is not trashed.
For anyone curious, I am installing it in a Clinton A-490. The Westbend rod is slightly longer but... With an offset bushing on top will drop it down enough to fit. Then just scallop the piston to correct port timing. A full floating two piece bushing will also be made for the lower. A big plus is upping the compression a good bit.
