T'N'T Disaster (1973)
#1
The Traeder Family's famed T'N'T kart track was selected site for the 1973 IKF Sprint Grand Nationals in Quincy, MO./IL.

In the spring of 1973 the Mississippi River overflowed it's banks and profoundly flooded the track and region under four or five feet of water. There is a kart magazine article on the T'N'T flood and will include in the thread if I can locate it. This left many questions for IKF, the racers, T'N'T officials and surrounding community to arise from the diasater. When will the flood water recede? What is the extend of the damage to track and facility? What construction resources and funds will be available?

Today's story marks the progress of the 1973 Mississippi flood T'N'T recovery. The rush is on...
