Maverick Spark
#11
Doug, it simply opens the circuit between coil and points, so that the spark is provided strictly by the magneto, minus the points and condenser. The switch was a "temporary OFF" pushbutton, akin to a car door switch. Pop used a "temporary OFF" roller micro switch for his "no wires" setup. It was a PITA to set up the throttle pedal override, but it worked on all his super engines, from Mc10, to stroked Mc10 and on through his Mc40. TJ
