CRANKSHAFT QUESTION - Doug Jorgensen - 09-13-2021

Could someone please tell me what would a McCulloch crankshaft with a cast # 47706-3 be used for, and what was it's original application.

RE: CRANKSHAFT QUESTION - Mark Loraine - 09-14-2021

That sounds like a casting number Doug, You need the stamped in numbers on the side of the counter weight. if there is none there, post a picture of it and maybe someone can identify it.

yep, crankshaft i.d. is stamped number on side of counter wt.
often it is partially hidden by the bearing.
if there is no number it could be an early crank but those are rare.
hope this helps. dave l.

Thanks Mark and Dave...yes it is a cast number. It had been confirmed that the crank is correct for the motor. Thanks...Doug
