Homelite EZ saw - Tim Exley - 11-02-2017

Found a Homelite EZ saw in good shape. According to acresinternet it's a '56-56, 5.01c.i., 82cc.
Centrifugal clutch, direct drive. Is it possible to convert for kart use?
Reason I'm asking is I have a Homelite kart. Thanks

Got a picture or three of it?

Tim, it's a lot like a K82 Homelite. Remember that some Homelite saws have to have the PTO side crankcase cover modified to remove the handle and chain bar mount. Don't know if that's the case with the EZ. On my XP, it took a LOT of cutting and grinding to mod that side cover. Homelite used a lot of magnesium, so be careful of igniting the dust if you are forced to do a lot of grinding. I started a nifty little fire on my work table modding the XP1000. I was half blind for a couple of hours! Ted

Tim ., it depends if its got the stuff casted into block ..I think its like the big teeth for gripping log and maybe for handle ..other than that there exactly same as a k82..i cant remember if its KR or KL ..right or left ..
I will look see what I have ..almost positive I have extra kart blocks ..

TJ ., im pretty sure they had em both ways ..some were casted some bolted on the 3 screws on side them ones are exact kart motors ..they had a few saws with 92,s also ..same motor diff jug ..bigger bore and the ports were lil diff ..

Thanks for the info. It's on craigslist for Atlanta. Pics aren't too good but there's a picture of it on acresinternet. Maybe you can tell if the handle and other pieces are cast to block or bolted on.
Thanks
