Interesting Survivor - doug tenney - 10-24-2017 A little time-capsule for vintage kart guys: look up 232533529028 on Eb-Yeah '60 Bug with a Homelite RE: Interesting Survivor - Paul Hunter - 10-24-2017 (10-24-2017, 08:26 AM)doug tenney Wrote: A little time-capsule for vintage kart guys: that kart is in great shape, I love it. RE: Interesting Survivor - Sterling Brundick - 10-24-2017 I'm suprised someone hasn't offered a bid, although the starting price of $1,895.00 is a little high. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Homelite-Go-Kart-/232533529028?hash=item36241411c4:g:enAAAOSwNGhZ48K5 RE: Interesting Survivor - ted johnson - 10-24-2017 Nice Sputnik steering wheel. Lower priced upholstery without sissy pads. We wouldn't sell a Wasp without sissy pads at the shop. Hope the Palmini juice brake is in a condition to be rebuilt. Sometimes they have to be sleeved and honed to fit the pistons. I actually sold a Wasp with a K82 way back in '60. Price is pretty high, but the kart looks good. TJ RE: Interesting Survivor - Randy Dacus - 10-24-2017 Funny.....selling for a friend.....and has no clue what it is and the price is high because ebay is in business of marketing and it takes money to successfully run a huge global enterprise . Classic early Bug with Homelite power .......has all the era correct parts, if it doesn't sell .....someone like Kent will rescue it that is somewhat near and able to make the pick up . Love those perfect Hands wheels, Palmini parts......very classic oldie ! Here's some images.....the Bug Wasp for sale on the internet and the one for twice the asking price . RE: Interesting Survivor - thomas kelley - 10-24-2017 i got chastised for saying it was priced high on facebook same guy said a sears kart with a brigs was worth $750... RE: Interesting Survivor - ted johnson - 10-24-2017 The red one is probably a late '61, Swiss cheese solid mounts, but narrow "sculptured" spindle hangers. Early '61's usually had spindle hangers the same width strap all the way down, and would've probably had the solid mounts without the lightening holes. It also has the improved mounting bracket for the Trophy brake caliper. TJ RE: Interesting Survivor - Jim Waltz - 10-25-2017 Nice looking kart. Looks to be all original. RE: Interesting Survivor - johnnyrocket - 10-26-2017 I asked the seller a question about this Kart and he says he has someone looking at it on Friday, I really hope he does not end the auction early as I would like a shot at this kart. RE: Interesting Survivor - doug tenney - 10-26-2017 Johnny, two suggestions. 1) Consider telling the seller what you told us. 2) Proceed with caution. I've heard that those old Bug chassis were known for fatigue cracking in the rear, behind the seat hoop. Just look it over carefully from all angles. |
