helping fellow vintage karter get ready for new castle ..rear kart with mc91 and 9 tooth rev grip ..
only wants turn few laps .

safe gear ..9-58 ..??

Others should chime in: 10/58 is safe (5.8) . I am choosing 11/65 (5.9) . Last year I ran 11/64 (5.81). Someone I know is running 10/62. Maybe just back off a few times on the straight and let more fuel in.

Lots less friction with a 10T top! When you get down to 9 teeth, the chain drags as it comes off the sprocket. More friction, more wear, less speed! Ted
