Six months of snow! - Dominic Salvato - 03-09-2017

I'm suffering from cabin fever....so I'm not responsible for content. I've been staring at my stuff, slowly making upgrades and repairs. I dream of sunny day's, hotrods and go karts.

Dom......I guess many of us know the feeling of winter blues.......it's seems like here in upper California it's been six months of constant rain, flooding, and folks worried about where all the water is going to end up .

I did manage to get down to Riverside to pick up a Bug, parts and a bunch of old kart Mags......but had to rush back home before more bad weather closed the roads Sad .

Springs almost here, but but but......seems like unless you can work inside....not much gets done until it's nice outside
and when it's nice....time to go for a drive Big Grin .

Seems like Global Gloominess has taken over, I use to always head out to the Drag Races March Meet held in Bakersfield/Famoso ......one time even won the Fuel and Gas Championship race.....but this year, just watched it all
on streaming video......Sunday finals got rained out until Monday afternoon......rain and cold !

Oh well.....back in the day.....I would have not let a few Gloomies stop me from being wherever I wanted to be, but
time moves on and the old bones need plenty of sunshine to get up off the dang couch......hee !

(Photo by Wes Allison) .....here's a replica of the D/Altered  we use to run......back in the mid sixties, even has Sissell's name as a sponsor on it !    "Kool" !

Some of my buddies  are still thrashing on the Nostalgia Funny Cars .....check it out .

Your cabin fever has to be particularly bad this winter.  The two previous winters were "mild" by Alaska standards.  This one has been much more severe.    I hope it wasn't like the winter when you had 200 inches of snow.  That year when I got up in late May a storage yard had a 10 story high pile of snow that they didn't expect to melt until September.

There's a reason all the airlines run specials on tropical trips when the permanent fund checks come out.

You might want to stash some of that fine iron in southern California or south Florida.  Then you have an excuse for catching a race in February or March (or both).
