It's easier for me to post this on Craigslist and leave the link here for details and pictures.

Member's here can private message me here on this site please and don't need to respond through Craigslist.

I posted one picture here of the engine with the head and Shroud off, just to show I can really do it.

Thanks,

  Freeing stuck piston in WB820
Posted by: DeanRichards - 07-01-2023, 04:40 PM - Forum: General - Replies (3)

Good afternoon,

I picked up a couple Chrysler/WB ultra lite motors the other day and one of the pistons seems to be stuck/froze up in the cylinder. What would be the best option on trying to get it freed up? I have been soaking it with WD but it doesn't want to break loose. Just don't want to be hammering on any parts. Appreciate any help. Thanks.

Updated 7/6/24 Needed L Dyke Rings for 50.18mm bore
Posted by: Mark Loraine - 05-21-2023, 04:41 PM - Forum: General - Replies (5)

Wondering if anyone has the Wiseco piston application chart for the old green envelope piston ring number 1013RS I have on-hand.
I am looking for the size of the ring primarily and engine application after.
These will be in the Foreign section.

Ultimately, I need a ring to fit a 50.10 mm Sirio piston I have for my ATK/Atomik Reed 100 cc engine.
Bore size as I recall was 50.18 mm at the top ridge.

I'd take 2 if anyone has them, but lets get the application of the above mentioned ring first please.

Thank You,

Mark L.  /  SWNY

  West Bend 580 Air Filter?
Posted by: Terry Armstrong - 05-14-2023, 01:45 PM - Forum: General - Replies (1)

Has anyone found a replacement air filter like the original "Skinner Ribbon Air Filter"? They were used on many early chainsaws, lawnmowers and kart engines in the late 50's and early 60's like the West Bend.  I have the carburetor base plate, "tower" support and the end plate.  The filter element was about 1.4" - 1.5" inches in diameter and about 2.5" inches in length.  My 580 is going on a minibike.

So far I cannot find any small air filters this size that will work.  The Skinner filter is shown below on a Homelite chainsaw that was made from '59 - '61.  Thanks!

  Reviving an MC-91 engine
Posted by: Michael Drechnowicz - 03-27-2023, 10:43 AM - Forum: General - Replies (2)

I am working on an MC-91A engine that has been sitting on a shelf for many years, at least 6 but probably longer. Looking thru the exhaust port, the cylinder looks really good and the engine has good compression. From the research I have done, a major concern about using an engine that has been sitting is that the bearings on the piston pin could be stuck. Is there any way to ensure they are free or to free them up short of removing the piston and replacing the bearings. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Michael
