Seeing as how Kevin's site is still dead it seems as this would be a good time to promote this site on Facebook etc. Thoughts?

Mineral Oil for H/A Brakes |

Does anyone use the Type 41 Aircraft Mineral oil in the H/A master cylinders set up for mineral oil? I read something about it a while back and I see Aircraft Spruce carries it. Here's something I copied & pasted about it -
AeroShell Fluids 4 and 41 are mineral hydraulic fluids; the latter has superior cleanliness characteristics and is the more widely used grade.

so heres a unicorn on ebay.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/132068288075?_tr...EBIDX%3AIT
it's a really decent pile o parts currently @ $1800.00
with the palmini stuff in the pile that's actually not a terrible price. but imho any reseller will have his work cut out for him to make a decent profit.
for a regular guy just after a few parts theres good break even potential if you don't take all the best bits. regardless nice to see theres still stuff out there.

guys,
it's seems they are moving forward on repairs.
meanwhile i'd say patience is the best solution.
pity more guys aren't signed up here we'd have a secondary forum to chat on.
maybe i'll post something like that on vintage when it reopens.
of course i may find myself kicked off again if gary (forum owner) notices i have a new member account.
not sure he's actually mad at me he never did tell me why my account needed to be delreted.

Hi Dave,
Thanks for the email. Yes we realize the site is down and are looking into what the problem is. At this time I am not sure what happened. The hosting company we use recently made some updates and it seems that is when the problems started. Hopefully it will be up and running soon. Thanks -Kevin

It's been engine week |

This week i decided to do up some pieces laying around. I realized I had a 92 crank I could put in that perfect stock bore block I've had on the bench for 2 years. got that engine built and bagged to put in a box. Then i started my MC 10 project. Pieces have been laying around again for several years. I got my MC 20 project started also. This morning I put together a 91B1 for my buddy. It was an engine that ran in the '75 Nationals and hasn't been run since. I repainted everything for him and went through the engine. Looks beautiful all sealed up with plenty of oil inside. later today I got most of the 20 buttoned up. This engine should be a strong runner. Last night I had painted covers for 5 different engines. When I did the wrinkle black covers I put down one coat of black epoxy primer and then three coats of black wrinkle in a 15 minute period and then put them in my hot box at 120* for 3 hours. You get perfect wrinkle when you do this and it gets much harder when you have baked it.

Of the several karts I have, this one is my favorite and I am very proud to own it. I agree with Mr. Steve Welte when he says, "It's the coolest kart ever made." There is no mistaking a Blackhawk Kart, it's unique engineered design and characteristic look is like no other kart made, before or after. Below are a few photos of the Poison Arrow I was lucky enough to find locally. Also, the following is an excerpt of an email I received from Marshall Fairman in response to my inquiry to learn more about the kart:
Vince, I’ll type an answer after each question. Sorry for slow reply. You’ve got a couple of nice options on the kart. Full width rear bumper was an option. Without it the hoop style front bumper would have been on the back. There was also a front porch option that extended the leg room and put a more protective bumper on the front. You have dual rear brakes on the frame uprights that wasn’t put on a lot of the karts. Those were Hurst Airheart front wheel brake brackets that we welded to the frame uprights to allow mounting the caliper or dual calipers there. Most karts had them in middle of the axle mounted off of the bearing support where the bottom motor mount tube with the shock rubbers mount to the bearing support.
Holler with other questions,
Marshall Fairman

Well, I can't seem to post photos?
