Hello everyone. Just wondering what everyone is using for their reeds. I've seen a couple of different materials and wondered what is the "best" material to use. Thanks in advance.

If people weren't so stubborn and would just use this forum the info would just flow like on the other one. Everything would be answered and the areas would soon get filled with all the valuable knowledge without all the problems. That's my 2 cents worth

Guys, i sent kevin a follow up email.
it was a week or so since last one so i figured i wasn't being a pest. so far no news will post what ever i get when i get it.
dave l
guys below is the email kevin sent. it seems the forum was severely damaged when the server updated but they are doing their best to save it. these things happen sometimes even with new forums. typically you'd want a separate copy of the forum outside the server to save the day. seriously doubt that was done. anyway if anyone can get it fixed it's Kevin.
if he does get it repaired i will look into what can be done about saving the info outside the server once again.
Quote:Hi Dave,
Thanks for checking in. Yes we are still having issues. The hosting company made server changes recently and data has been lost from the forum. I sent in a service request with the missing info a week ago and haven't heard back from them. I have been trying to do an online chat now for a couple hours and still waiting to talk with someone. I am hoping they can restore the data they lost. We don't have plans to shut down the site just having technical issues. It is not just posts that were lost they lost tables in the database so currently nothing is accessible. This is very frustrating and I hope to have it resolved soon and hopefully the result is that it will be back to normal. I have my fingers crossed. Thanks -Kevin

101mc crank conversion |

Hello all , I have a very nice 101mc with the 3/4 pto . I was wondering if I could install a 101 tapered shaft on this motor as it doesnt seem like a straight forward swap. I cant remember but I think the bearing area on the 101mc is different O.D . than a tapered 101. , anyone do this conversion ?

west bend 820's and E bay |

If you are looking at West Bend 820's do your homework first. Almost all the old engines have the old weak rod that has to be replaced. They will have the old thick ring piston. They need bearings and seals. You are buying a used unknown engine and you are hoping the chrome bore is still good. I suggest you go to the US MotorPower web site and add up the parts. You may be better off buying a new engine. I can't tell anyone what they should pay for a used engine but I can say if you pay more than 175.00 to $250.00 and have to do all the work and parts replacement you are paying to much. It is all a gamble. Also stay tuned as new information may be coming on New West Bend 820's.

somebody wrote me a message a while back on the old forum that had any Mc available for sale. Can't remember his name but he was offering any single carb motor for 500 double was a little more. Never got into details since I found a nice mc91 on ebay. looking for something for my 61 Scorpion. a 10 or 20 would be preferred but a 6 would work. I would even consider a homelite, PP or WB (rh).
a homelite 100 LH would be nice but expect it would be too pricey.
what a horror about the old site but this new one will be nice, too
