I have no use for this. It's NOS and in great shape.
$25 + shipping. I get good FedEx rates with my account.
Prefer Paypal.

  Digatron temperature gauge
Posted by: Bill Peck - 05-15-2017, 03:38 PM - Forum: General - Replies (2)

I have a Digatron DT-4C temperature gauge for my Mac that I purchased back in the late '70s. In preparing for Sandy Hook I put fresh batteries in it, plugged in the sensor and the gauge displayed "649" or some number in that range, the same number it displays with the the sensor disconnected.

I contacted Digatron and they confirmed my guess that the sensor is probably bad. They suggested that I try it with a sensor that I know is good. If it is a bad sensor, they still have them available, but before I blow $65 plus shipping, I'd like to know that it is indeed the problem.

Is anyone going to be at Sandy Hook or Thompson who has a sensor that I can try?

Cool mcculloch thread in motors section a must read for newbes!!
Posted by: David Luciani - 05-15-2017, 12:45 PM - Forum: General - Replies (2)

Terry Bently is one of my favorite guys to read on the forums. he ranks right up there with the best.
Lately he'sa been sending me versions of a mcculloch early engine article.
i would have run the first version it was that good but Terry is a little bit of a perfectionist.
now he has finally published the article but many will miss it as he put it in the correct place.
which is great but i want everyone to see it so heres a link
mcculloch early saw article

Cool

  USPS Great service!!!!!!!!
Posted by: Mike Berg - 05-14-2017, 09:33 AM - Forum: General - Replies (18)

Just thought I would make public my experience with our Great Public servants at the United States Post Office:
sent carb to Australia... it was sent to Austria, never left USA, never heard from again, agent failed to apply insurance.
sent 2 BBomb crank halves to NC... box arrived right on time NO CONTENTS.. applied claim twice claim denied no sales receipt, 30 year old parts, must prove current value.
sent check to florida.... never arrived, nothing
bought 2 heads form Virginia, mailed 30 days ago, agent typed in wrong Zip code, package currently ??????
I have had several more episodes with USPS, each time I have contacted postal employees including the Postmaster, each time I was told they would track and locate the missing mail, then they would CALL me with a update, I have yet to receive a call from anyone or receive any lost mail.
Use the USPS at your own peril it will eventually bite you then piss all over you for using this lousy service.

WTB Simplex Mark II Rear Sprocket Assembly
Posted by: Michael Jarosik - 05-13-2017, 10:30 PM - Forum: For Sale/Wanted - No Replies

I'm Looking for either a 60 or 72 tooth sprocket for a Simplex Mark II Go Kart. It would be great if the sprocket is in usable condition but I will also consider a sprocket with worn teeth, I can use the hub.

Thanks

Those of us who are still nostalgic for McBob's excellent online Mac reference library (RIP) will like this site I just came across:

The photo of the white Homelite is actually one of Jeff Troy's exquisite karts!

  Save those Clinton's D-35
Posted by: Jim Donovan - 05-12-2017, 09:25 AM - Forum: General - Replies (6)

Thanks to Terry Sullivan I know have a step crank for the D-35 clinton which is a real beautiful crank and was a challenge for making the clutch.  Tried to convince Chris Marchand he should go INBOARD because that was easy to make and I could get down to a 10 tooth sprocket on the 5/8 portion but it would not line up with his rear sprocket.

Terry came through by donating the $10,000 solid g0ld crankshaft that was given to him by Don Thomas (founder of Clinton) when Clinton made its 1,000,000 D-35 chain saw. This just goes to prove how long Terry has been involved with 2 cycle engines and to let Ted know why my clutches are expensive.  It is the security I have to hire to protect these valuable cranks given to me by some of the greatest karters in vintage.

I would show you a picture of the crank but my insurance company warned me it could effect my renewal.  The steps are .787 stepping down to .625 and then stepping down to .500 that small step has the 5/32 woodruff key and then it is threaded 7/16 fine thread.

With that said, I thought I could possibly run for president when Donald's 8 year term is up.
