Any idea what this kart is?
Brad, may be something as simple as an early Fox Go Boy with an added tube from seat to engine mount to strengthen the rear of the frame. You can't see the plates in the sissy rails in this pic to see if there holes in them. Ted

The kart is a Fox 60L with a lot of metal added to the front.

Thanks, Ernie. I can never remember which non-satellite seat Fox is which! I just realized we never had any early Fox karts in Brevard County, FL. Down there, everything was Bug, Dart, Go kart, Etc. Ted

The late 50's and early 60's in Maryland was Fox, Dart and a few local manufactured karts. I ran a 60L and won a lot of races with it. Did not see Bug or Go kart in large numbers.

When they ran national events in MD, they all came out. There were ones I only saw in the magazines.

Howard Wyatt, of Wyatt Enterprises in Cocoa, FL, was the first guy in our area with a satellite seat '61 Fox. He ran it with a 580 5 port that had a bushing rod installed. He was the terror of Bushing Class. If we wanted to see karts other than Bug, Dart/Lancer, Xterminator and Go Kart, we had to go over to the old Checker Kart track in Casselberry, North of Orlando. We did have one girl from Orlando who came to Rockledge and drove her R1 with a Russell modified Mc30 in A Super. There were also the occasional Hoffco and Ala Kart that came to the Rockledge track. We had one Alpha Kart with dual V-11 Saettas on it, but it never ran well.
Brad's Alley Kat is a very sweet machine. Aurands brought a trailer full of Kats to our shop in hopes that we'd become dealers, but we already had Bug and Go kart, so we declined. We did take the Kats to the track and had a couple hours of fun with them. They drove very well. Evans brought several Flyweight karts and an Evans Special. I had been thinking that I liked the look of the Flyweight. After driving it, I decided against the so-called "forward look"!  TJ
This kart is on craigslist near peoria Illinois if someone is interested. Steep at 400$ but I like to put them out there and try to save them if someone may be interested.
