TODAY'S TURNOUT WAS A BIT LIGHT.  THE MASSIVE MIGRATION TO THE RIVERSIDE SPECIAL EVENT APPEARS TO HAVE DENTED EAST COAST VINTAGE FINANCIAL AND EQUIPMENT RESOURCES.  KARTERS FROM UP NORTH COMPLAINED THAT THE MID 80S WITH FLORIDA HUMIDITY WAS TOO MUCH.  AFTER LATE NIGHT FORECAST RAIN TEMPS ARE FORECAST TO PLUMMET TO THE LOW TO MID 70S.  THIS SHOULD REDUCE COMPLAINTS THAT BANNING RACING IN YOUR SKIVIES IS UNFAIR.

THE MORNING PRACTICE SESSION WAS DOMINATED BY YAMAHAS AND SPAGETTI.  MACS WERE UNCHARACTERISTICALLY SCARCE.  MACS POPPED UP IN THE AFTERNOON, BUT THE FOREIGN ENGINES STILL SEEMED TO OUTNUMBER THE MACS IN THE PITS.  WE WILL SEE WHAT HAPPENS ON RACE DAYS.

THE ONE SCARY TURN OF EVENTS TODAY TOOK PLACE WHEN A STORMIN PURPLE PEOPLE EATING LANCER WITH DUAL 101S WENT END OVER END.  FORTUNATELY THE DRIVER SEEMED TO COME OUT OK.  THE KART SEEMED BASICALLY OK EXCEPT FOR CARBS RIPPED OFF ONE MOTOR.

A LONG OVERDUE TIP OF SMOKEY'S HAT GOES OUT TO THE GREAT FIRST KART RIDE SERIES.  EVEN THE PRISSY SCHOOL MARMS OF OUR YOUTH WOULD HAVE TO GIVE AT LEAST A B+ TO THIS STORY.  I MUST GIVE IT AT LEAST AN A AND REALLY AN A+.
