How many years was the 800 series Go Kart manufactured. Also did they have a serial number and if so where would it be located?
Late '59 thru 1961. Several variations were made, including the tall seat hoop. Early ones had the Azusa Posi-Stop mechanical disc brake. Latest ones had the Bendix drum brake and the nice front bumper. Early versions had steel wheels, later ones had the aluminum Azusas with the steel inner half. Early 800's had the cast aluminum Azusa steering wheel and the 1/2" steering shaft. Later ones had the rubber rimmed Azusa 12" wheel. Lots of other small variations. I never saw a serial No. on the ones I sold and owned, but these were later 800's. See my nice blue 800 in my avatar above. Ted
in the dozen or so i have lying around never saw a serial number. neat thing about most gk karts was who ever welded them was pretty anal.
the seats typically are welded exactly the same , with the same short 1" bead spaced almost with mechanical precision.
lots and lots or variations but all follow the same basic theme. post pix and we'll id 100%.
