steve,
historic has or had three levels in vka.
historic 1 2 and 3 last time i looked in vka rules.
since historic three legal engines are light years faster than historic 1 i usually didn't allow them to run historic class.
those bigger engines are better placed in rear engine 100 cc class.
as it is allowing live axle mc6 and tens to compete against dead axle clintons and homelites make for a unevenly matched grid.
the dead axle karts have sort of brakes as opposed to live axles brakes ,add faster engines and you can have issues.
adding 100 cc engines capable of passing both the mc's and the true historic motors ads yet another layer of potential issues.
with wildly differing braking speeds and overtake rates with THREE DIFFERENT styles of engines the grids can become dangerous.
while it mostly doesn't create a problem it only takes one bad move to create a wreck that could end our track access.
rather than risk everything we've worked so hard to get i'd rather see a few guys moved into grids that will make everyone better matched and a little safer.
to me, matching performance to some degree is a delicate ba1ance
but a needed thing to do when creating race grids.
there are some who might not be real happy with that but oh well.
the safety factor and fun factor is considerably better when the promoter steps in with performance consideration used when creating grids.
unfortunately there are many promoters that don't bother and just let the rules make the grids.
in my observations , those grids tend to be the ones with complaints and sometimes serious incidents happening.
my two cents others may dis agree.
