Dean Kossaras has asked me to post this announcement:

The VKA Guidelines Committee needs your help.

In an effort to address the concerns and suggestions of vintage karters, the VKA Guidelines Committee would like to hear from you.  Please keep in mind that a major purpose of  VKA is to create guidelines for promoters and tracks to use that will create consistency between events for vintage karters all across the country.  Your concerns and suggestions should focus on "period correct" karting that occurred up until 1987.

Please send your suggestions to Dean Kossaras at amstar@ameritech.net or call 810-694-0411 no later than Oct. 1.
Thanks you guys for listening to us. Now it's up to us to send you positive suggestions to work with. Here's your chance people, if you don't say anything don't complain. You can't please everyone.

Remember, these guys are volunteers and have a thankless job.
perhaps create a guideline for doing single playdays??
even though i spend a bit of time on the forum i think i can make space in my schedule to make a few suggestions .
but first we'd need to know vka would seriously consider adding a whole new section.
and you're not gonna like my next suggestion but i'm kinda beyond worrying about pissing off people i respect but maybe don't agree with on something.
here ya go
my bigger suggestion
i think
VKA should finally "go there" and allow the members a voice WITH A LEGITIMATE VOTE TALLY ON RULE CHANGES or as you guys like to call them suggestions.

and yep the big letters do indeed mean i'm saying this loudly in this post!!

it is a pretty easy thing to set up a members section in the vka members only section that would allow a single vote per member on proposed changes.
getting a quorum on rule changes is alot harder than just telling everyone what we do and don't want.
but it would be the best way to move vintage karting forward in a way that the membership wants.

to me that is the biggest flaw the vka club has and also to me the easiest thing to fix.

sorry but you did ask for suggestions for the vka guideline committee Dodgy

dave, here's your chance to be heard. call dean. like rolf said you have to call or email dean. leaving messages on the forum isn't going to cut it. dean doesn't read the forum. i'm sure he would like to hear from you.
Dave,
Problem is EVERYONE does not vote so you do not get an accurate picture of what people actually want just some of them.

I agree that it should be what the majority wants but for some reason people don't let their wishes be known or maybe they don't care. It's a mystery to me.
and just like in the USA you don't have to be a citizen to vote,,,,( as in..... you don't have to be VKA members to ask questions, suggestions)..........

remember, we are trying to satisfy the needs of the majority, not just one...

and you can do it here,,but it will fall on deaf ears,,,email to Dean...
