Full Version: Camden VKA Speed Trap MPH

Camden VKA event had a radar speed sign measuring speeds at about the 3/4 point down the straight. These are not max speeds if your kart was still pulling RPM from before the sign, past it and into the brake zone.

My 1963 RUPP Brand X with Mc45 and box muffler was seeing 47 to 49mph with a 9/64 gear. The 6.1 Rear karts I saw where doing 50 - 53 mph. Dual rear 6.1 and 8.2 59 to 70mph.  I think we saw the top C-Open karts doing 72 - 77mph. Some other C-Open 65mph range. I saw Tom Boman's purple Lancer with Komet read 55 mph.  Correct me or add speeds you saw.

It was a slight distraction to me at first, but then I realized to use it as a tool to see how well I got off of 1. Funny thing is I don't remember looking at it during the races.
