There's a rough 1200 on eBay. So far, cheap price. Frame with a 4 smoke engine, no wheels. Listed as an 800, but under the crappy mounts are the front snubber perches for swing mounts, so It appears to be a 1200. Fraon pan appears bolted in, also. Item 222621319191  I have no dog in this fight, only thought someone might be interested. TJ

Ted
This guy had a Fox Kart listed on letgo for 225. with the original wheels it was on for about 2 hours i tried
to get but he never responded it had knobby tires on with a 4 stroke motor on it yard Kart the wheels i
think may already be on Ebay. i live only about 45 min. from him
Richard,
Richard, I guess it caught my eye because I still consider the GK 1200 the best rear engine kart, possibly with a tie with the later Bug Sprint. They're hard to find, and are really handsome when decked out. Ted

looks like i will have to weld up the broken edges and forget the matco  or repro stuff
cause i have a complete set of rears and they wouldn't match
Now back to the original thread Big Grin !

"There's a rough 1200 on eBay. So far, cheap price. Frame with a 4 smoke engine, no wheels. Listed as an 800"

Ted ...searched the number you posted, checked for current and completed listings....no Go Karts Sad  !
A few Bugs, Darts, modern, and plenty of yardys.....so maybe GK 1200 are not really rare, but few and far between .

When I decided some years back to find a GK 800, way before I knew there was a Vintage Kart resurgence , it took me a long time to find my first Go Kart, even when I was on my way to pick it up I found you have to be tough on the seller or they may take a higher offer before you get to the sellers location .

Finding nice vintage karts got easier after I found there were other Vintage guys that were willing to part with part  of what they had collected .

Working with the Vintage Community to find most anything is the best way, maybe not like finding that super barn find
with yard sale pricing, but solid runners are to be had from the hard core of Vintage Racers .

So I have my GK 1200 thanks to a tip from Tom Smith and my friend Russ Smith that pointed me in the right direction.

When Steve and Shawn Welte decided to part with their Bug Sprint, I was lucky to purchase it before it got away, plus
friends Tom and Chuck brought the Bug to Riverside for me to take home......best way to buy a kart you'll be proud to own, plus I didn't have to worry about it being destroyed by some uncaring shipping company !

Of course I still enjoy the hunt for treasure, but watch out for the pirates......!

As to the Go Power repops......as mentioned on another thread on this subject.....if you paint them all the same color
you won't be able to tell the difference, of course the Matco rims might have to have the Matco logo removed to look like Go Powers .

My repops are a good match, I just wish more were to be had Sad .

Go Power 4" and 5” wheel sets
Only available in limited supply now .... 5" wheel front/rear set $410, 4" front set $285 (CA 9 1/4% Sales Tax)

Richard....if you want the real deal Go Power "Originals" NOS fronts, not sure if bearings are included, the fellow I got
my GK1200 from has a pair for sale for $275 shipped . Four inch size ....a matched pair.

Not cheap.....may be gone soon, I have to go pick up a seat back from him so let me know if you want them .
Our old Bug Sprint is a great kart, definitely a blast to drive. And when polished up, a good looker as well. And the bumper mod is a nice addition if you ever have something go wrong you have a good chance of walking away.

Soon I'll have another Alley Kat repop to match my evil twins. I had the pleasure to drive Jack Canady's GK800 last year at VKA Delmar, good handling kart, its a little too small for me but fun nonetheless.

holes and the newer the bolts together inside 3 of big holes i guess there the series 2 wheels and mine are 1s
i am hoping that the welding shop can tig some material on the outer edge then put them on a lathe and re machine
them and i will have a matching set this kart has 5 inch front and rear
