I had a jig made so that I could drill out two Max-Torque clutches. I drilled them, sanded the burrs, then polished them. Light surface rust started a few days later. I was wondering what I could put on them or buff them with to stop the rust without contaminating the inside of the clutch. Any ideas?
Thanks, Rick
Oil? Same as any firearm that sits in waiting...
Sharkhide Metal Treatment will solve the problem.

I thought about oil or wax, just wasn't sure.
Sharkhide sounds like what I need. Thanks, Steve.
Dave, Thanks. Yes. I figured out what I wanted and had it made.
No machine shop here, just a drill press.

if you want to share the cool i'd be interested in a couple done.
very 1950's hot rod look to them.
I've been looking for "War on rust" for a while now, I've used it in a pump spray bottle to coat all metals
professionally and at home. I cant seem to find it for sale, so I used quotes like above on google and found
it being used on products some of you are familiar with. (see link below)
Before finished shot peened and machined auto blocks and cranks were bagged they were sprayed
with this formula and will eventually go tacky to dry, and is I feel the best rust preventative there is.
It was available in 5 gallon pails.

Sharkhide is cool stuff.

Clean metal and wipe it on.

Interesting that the Cortec product was far superior to the "War on Rust" product.

Of course the testing was far more severe than most any circumstance we would experience in karting.
