I'm looking for a good A400/A490 crankshaft for a motor I'm building for my 59 Bug.
Anybody got one that they would be willing to part with?

The crankshafts are different.
A490 has a ball bearing on the PTO side of the crankshaft.
Looking for new, or used?

Terry is the Clinton man, but if he doesn't have a crank, PM me and I'll give you my phone No. Ted
clinton man you mean easy rider terry
Well it does has ball bearings on the PTO side so it would be an A490
new, or used? I don't care as long as it's a good usable crank and not roached.

Willie
As Chuck knows, I am playing Easy Rider in Daytona, but I should be home tonight or tomorrow.
I know I have new cranks, not sure about good used ones.
I also have pretty much anything you might need to get a Clinton going.
I have a few Bugs too!

No big hurry, LOL I've been working on this kart off and on for about 2 years, but I would like to get this motor up and running, it's the last piece of the puzzle well besides a clutch.

I was planning on just getting a 5/8 bore regular max-torque clutch for it, I read a thread somewhere someone said they work just fine on the A400/A490's.

Willie
The standard MaxTorque clutch will be fine.  Try to keep the ratio at least 6:1
Willie,
I have a few used cranks that are functional, but not pretty.
PTO maybe marked, drilled, etc. - $25
I have new cranks for $75
