[attachment=719][attachment=719]Anyone know what this kart is?

Frank,
Any chance you have a side view to post?? Not sure if the literature on the floor pan is for the kart pictured, but there appears to be a McCulloch brochure/manual and a Bird Engineering brochure. Bird made fun and yard karts out of Nebraska. Then again, a lot of it looks overkill for a fun kart...
Looks like a Duke Fox Champ Kart to me. From the people who made the Fox model airplane engines, Need a side view to make sure, but that front axle is pretty typical of the Fox Champ. I drove one of their karts when the Fox company brought them to our shop in hopes of getting Pop to be a distributor. Pop and Duke Fox were friends from model airplane control line speed days. We were Fox engine distributors in West Melbourne, FL. Fox was planning to make two displacement models of the free-air kart engine that looked like a giant Fox 35 model engine. The engine never made production, though it was advertised in the kart magazines. Ted
Ted I would like to call you. I have no side pics just more of the engines.

I'm with Ted on this one. Looks like the Fox Duke front and upholestry. They never had a rear bumper. Looks like the flat plate side pads they used. Would be nice to see the wheels and some side profiles. Quite popular in '59/60 and then gone.

Steve's right-the wheels are very distinctive. Nobody else used them. I think the foundry that did the castings on the Fox engines did the wheels. Similar very smooth finish. The red/black seats were Fox all the way. Weird driving kart. It was configured to lift the inside rear wheel in a turn instead of the inside front. It felt strange. I drove the factory demo with dual Mc10's, and it got around the track pretty well once I had a few laps under my belt. The flat steel center steering wheel bar was Fox. We didn't get to drive the one that had the giant model engine on it. TJ
where are the brakes? inside the sprocket hubs?
Thanks a lot guys. I would have never guessed that. I thought it was a Bird
I do have to go look at my 8x10's from 1960. It has several Fox Duke karts. One in the winners circle and several during crashes. There is just something about the front axle setup that doesn't look right.
