Blackhawk MK VIII - B Reed ad

Great ad. I wish I had kept all those newspapers. I had a big stack of them until I moved in 1996. I threw out and burned all sorts of stuff rather than moving it. i remember burning an entire case on Klotz Niro additive and a case of Ether additive. I also took a complete Maico 400 motocrosser that only needed on trans gear to the dump and just set it there and drove away. All seems pretty dumb today.
I'm like you, Steve. Pop and I had hundreds of magazines, catalogs and brochures for my kart shop, as well as jackets and banners. There were tons of Mac parts, including stock and modified blocks and pistons, Etc. The parts all went in the dump. When Pop and Mom moved to a new house in '82, Mom said all the kart and model airplane paper stuff had to go, so it was all taken to the dump. Pop managed to save a few model airplane magazines, but the kart stuff was gone. My pal, Charlie, saved every bit of his stuff, and some engine parts he already had and some that Pop gave him. I have nothing, and Charlie has boxes of stuff to refer back to. When vintage came along, I had to start from scratch. Charlie had a head start, including the Bug Scorpion that's shown in my avatar picture. Ted
Like Steve and Ted,

First move. Left engine (Russell-modified MC-9), carbs, gearbox and parts with a cousin to use with his kart. He sold it along with his kart to get a car. He is still my little buddy (ten years younger).

Grant steering wheel with a friend. It turned up missing.

Many trophies damaged during moves, not kept.

The "Karting Worlds" (late 61 - early 1966) collection pretty much intact. After five or so years at current residence, I pitched all except for the IKF Nationals issues or that included somebody I knew--I wished I knew more people, LOL! No internet as we know it today or vintage karting.
